A Nebraska-based company, producing liquid fertilizer in Nebraska for Nebraska farmers, from renewable energy, produced and delivered by Nebraska's public power utilities.
Known as Project Meadowlark to the Gothenburg, NE community in its earliest stages, JWC Gburg LLC has been a dream and the primary focus of ours for many years now.
Liquid fertilizer will be produced through electrolysis technology using waste carbon dioxide. This technology is more efficient and eco friendly than the traditional use of natural gas in fertilizer production. Renewable energies will be sourced by Nebraska's public power providers, liquid carbon dioxide from ethanol plant and power plant emissions and water from Gothenburg's city wastewater plant and groundwater.
Late 2024 - Construction is expected to begin
Late 2026 - The plant is expected to be fully operational
Notable event remarks from co-founder and CEO, Josh Westling:
"The excitement around this project is palpable and it is particularly rewarding to experience cooperation and support from many different sources. The Governor and the State of Nebraska, our federal, state, and local elected officials, and utility company leadership, just to name a few, have all provided support necessary for this project to become a reality."
"I don't think we chose Gothenburg. Gothenburg chose us. The energy of the community is infectious."
"We are obviously excited about our future to be part of the solutions for agriculture. There is no better place for this project than the community of Gothenburg."
"This is the kind of place you want to do business. The support has been fantastic and this celebration embodied that. Seeing everyone interested who came out to support us. The kind words. The nice gestures. We definitely appreciate everyone coming out."
